Your First Discovery with UVexplorer

From the Start Page, select the Network Discovery wizard.

Click “Next”.

Select “PING Sweep” and click “Next”.

You will see a list of previously added credentials.

If you do not have any credentials listed, click the “Add” button. On the “Protocol / Credential Settings” window that pops up, click the plus sign to add the appropriate credentials, then click “Save”.

Once you add the credentials, select the credentials UVexplorer needs to use to complete the discovery.

Choose wich “Windows Inventory Settings” option you prefer:

  • Collect Basic Windows Inventory (System, OS, BIOS, etc.)
  • Collect Full Windows Inventory (Basic + Installed Software, Software Updates, etc.)

Click “Next” and then on the following tab click “Finish” to start the discovery.

Depending on your network, your discovery could be as fast as ~25 seconds, or up to 7-8 minutes. UVexplorer is very fast on the discovery side.

Once the discovery is complete, you can review the results by clicking on the “Open” button.

Upon clicking “Open”, you will have the option to export the data to PRTG if you would like.
